Copyright & Cultural Memory – The GLAM sector

CCM1Copyright presents a range of challenges for the cultural heritage sector. Exploring how intellectual property impacts the preservation, access and use of our shared cultural heritage, online and across borders, has been an intellectual staple of CREATe since it was established. CREATe researchers Ronan Deazley (Queens University Belfast), Megan Blakely, Kerry Patterson, Victoria Stobo, and Andrea Wallace (all University of Glasgow) address the challenges of digitisation, intangible cultural heritage, risk-based models of copyright compliance for archive collections, and surrogate intellectual property rights.

The exhibition stand included rolling presentations by all four researchers, alongside a display of works from Display at Your Own Risk, a unique, open source exhibition project to which theĀ four researchers contributed (http://displayatyourownrisk.org).
